Indian Legend MS Dhoni retires from International cricket via announcing it on Instagram.
MS Dhoni is one of the most impact batsman India has ever produced, not only as batsman, but he will also be remembered as one of the best ever captain in the history of cricket. At least Best ever Indian skipper till now.
MS Dhoni has led Indian team to conquer the T20 World Cup 2007 with young team. Led them towards first position in Test rankings in 2010. Won the ICC World Cup 2011 in India. He has also won two Asia Cups during his captaincy. Who will forget the ICC Champions Trophy 2013 when they defeat England to have their first Champions Trophy to their name that’s too in England where India team mostly don’t like to tour.
He single handedly have won many matches for India, also have all major trophies to his name which makes him to be world’s first captain to have all ICC major trophies as captain. MS Dhoni also has ranked No.1 ODI batsman in 2006. He was among top ten ODI batsman for more than 5 years consecutively which shows how great he was as batsman as well as captain of Indian team.
“Thanks for all support and love, consider me retired,” said MS Dhoni on Instagram.
MS Dhoni last played Test match in 2014 after his wonderful performance in Test cricket in 2013. He played his last T20I in 2016. But his last ODI was come in 2019 against New Zealand in semi final where his fifty plus score couldn’t guide his team to World Cup’s final. It is already fresh in everyone’s mind that MS Dhoni could also have won it if he wasn’t run-out.
MS Dhoni debuted for India in 2004 and played last international match in 2019. He played total 15 years and scored more than 17000 runs in all formats combined while playing 538 matches for India.
Ms Dhoni is the name of calmness, throughout his career, he was never seen too much aggressive. Yes indeed he was aggressive batter but never was too angry. He was such a lovely guy who was always ready to teach and guide youngsters.
Players like Shane Watson, DM Bravo and Mike Hussey are huge fan of him. Not because he is so much calm but also for his guidance that he provides to his fellow on the field and off the field as well.
Ms Dhoni is known for his greatness. He was brilliant captain, among best ever. Probably Indian’s best ever. He was among the greatest wicket-keepers as well as Batsmen who have ever emerged the game of cricket. The words might not be enough to praise MS Dhoni’s greatness but one thing is surely common among fans is, his greatness as human.
I still remember Faf Du Plessis was struggling with fitness against India in India. Ms Dhoni was first one to go there and help Faf Du Plessis. He cares about humanity a lot which is his another sign of greatness. He has got a lot of fans over the years. We are among them.
